Raising Canadian Voices at VIFF 2018

Join Our Campaign and Double Your Impact

During VIFF 2018 we’re asking for your support to help bring more Canadian Filmmakers to VIFF.
Filmmaker participation is a vital part of the festival experience and VIFF is committed to connecting audiences with filmmakers from across the country. Canadian stories continue to be a significant part of our programming and we want to ensure that Canadian creators have an opportunity to present their projects in person.

The Lochmaddy Foundation has generously offered to match all donations up to a total of $15,000. All funds raised through this campaign will go towards bringing Canadian Filmmakers and industry professionals to VIFF so that Canadian creators can tell their own stories.

We launched Raising Canadian Voices on Cardholder Day with a video message from 2017 VIFF award winner Charles Officer, director of Unarmed Verses who spoke about the impact that our festival and the support of our audiences has had on his career.

In one day, our generous VIFF+ Members and Patrons Circle Donors helped jump-start the campaign, raising enough to cover the travel and hospitality costs for three Canadian filmmakers to participate in VIFF this year. But this is just the beginning.

You can join the campaign and make a donation at goviff.org/donate or at the box office when you buy your festival tickets. Prefer to make a donation by phone? Please call us at 604.683.3456.
All donations above $25 are eligible for a tax receipt.
