Did you know that VIFF has a premium membership program? There are three different levels of VIFF+ membership- bronze, silver or gold and each offers its own set of shiny perks including discounted tickets, free popcorn, and special screenings. More importantly, membership allows you to share in the power and joy of exceptional storytelling with a community of 500+ fellow film lovers.
To celebrate our members, VIFF is hosting a Cardholder Day on August 18th at the Vancity Theatre. This event is an opportunity to bring our members together, show our appreciation and get excited for the upcoming festival.
Event doors will open at 10am and all members are welcome to come enjoy free tea, coffee, and popcorn. We repeat: FREE popcorn!
At 1pm our festival programmers will offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the programming world, give you more insight into the Vancouver International Film Festival and provide a sneak peek of this year’s most anticipated films.
At 2pm there will be a free screening of Steven Lewis Simpson’s adaptation of Kent Nerburn’s acclaimed novel- Neither Wolf Nor Dog. This funny and deeply moving film follows author Kent Nerburn as he gets sucked into the heart of contemporary Native American life by a 95-year-old Lakota elder who has chosen Nerburn to ghost-write his memoir. The book project turns into a road trip and a history lesson, an experience the author will never forget.
So many free activities and so much fun!
Staff and volunteers will be available to help renew or upgrade memberships, or deliver membership cards that were ordered online. Most exciting of all- Silver and Gold members will be able to purchase VIFF 2017 Ticket Packs and VIFF Passes before they’re on sale to anyone else, all at a 25% discount (one pass per member). Gold and Silver members may also take advantage of this deal online for 24 hours starting at noon.
We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating.
